This Craft Bazaar supports sustainable development in a unique way

A unique effort dedicated towards social initiatives as part of the Raj Bhowmik Back-To-Society DREAM, Soulbath Peace Foundation organises an Annual Crafts Bazaar, a fundraiser event every year, to support a social initiative. This year the fundraiser supports the project promoting Education for Sustainable Development for Children in Rural India for Leadership, Citizenship and Empowerment.

A unique exhibition and an opportunity for artistic, cultural and creative pursuit, it tells stories from the heart of rural India through its textiles, pottery and jewelry.  ‘Soulbath Peace Foundation Crafts Bazaar’ running successfully in its third year is being organized in Bangalore this year on the 19th and 20th October.

The primary mission of this bazaar is to develop a spirit of community responsibility and to promote SPF’s social project promoting education for sustainable development for empowering children from Rural India along the Kaveri basin in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Through the Crafts Bazaar, SPF provides a platform both for arts creators and arts appreciators to come together to contribute to the society in the most meaningful and in a personally viable way – the artists through their talent and the appreciators through their contributions.

Last year, the ‘Soulbath Peace Foundation Crafts Bazaar – 2012’ supported project aimed at supporting HIV mom and her child. The event was a great success with hundreds visiting the unique exhibition that told stories from the heart of rural India – through our adopted weavers & artisans. Every art product that was bought lit the Hope Flame to support the HIV+ MOMs in India. SPF aims for similar success this year.

A unique heritage in making, the SPF Crafts Bazaar, aimsto safely grow and nurture this initiative to reinforce Raj Bhowmik Back-To-Society DREAM. A distinctive platform has thus been created to promote social awareness and participation and to value and pay a tribute to art and enrich the stories that they tell to the audience. Every stitch, every weave, fabric and color tells the story of a process, emotions, the lifestyles and the communities of artisans.

This year the art collection focuses more on North and Eastern India and will feature an exclusive range of dupattas, sarees, unique pottery and jewelry from regions like Bhagalpur, Krishnanagar, Hoogly, Murshidabad, Khurja, Jalandhar, Chanderis, Maheshwaris, Bhuj, Pochampally to name a few.  The art works range from Rs 300 to Rs 2500.
