With barely eight days to go before Bengaluru witnesses a historic election, candidates are up and about, to touch base with voters.

The left-leaning Bangalore People’s Forum has recently come up with a manifesto for consideration of candidates participating in BBMP elections 2010.

This council election will see Veena, a transsexual, and Anil, a former teacher, contesting from Okalipuram (Ward 196) and Hebbal (Ward 21) respectively. Both represent citizen group Praja Rajakiya Vedike.

As the city council polls are finally set to take place, parties other than the BJP, Congress and JD(S) kick-start their campaign in a bid to bring about change in Bengaluru.
