How did Hemmigepura ward achieve 59.4% turonout?

Just concluded BBMP Elections saw ward no 198 – Hemmigepura stand second in voters turnout. This ward reported 59.4% voter turnout, to stand next to Siddapura where 62.14% voted were polled.

This is because, various layout residents of Kanakapura road are together and having a good net work among themselves. They have prepared a vision document for their aspiring corporators and submitted when they met them during the election campaign.

The Residents Welfare Associations together decided to ensure they followup with their residents and ensure they go out and vote. Infact many associations helped the residents to find out their name in the voter list and issued a slip and also gave on-the-phone support when they reached the polling booth and not able to find their names.

These associations ensure that the name of their residents is on voter rolls, and also add new residents when they either consturct a home and shift or come to the locality to a rented house. This kind of regular contacts and followups before every elections has helped the highest turn out of votes.

Ward No 198 is not only the last in the serial number but also in the development. The Residents Welfare Associations have now decided to approach the elected reprasentitives and demand for the due from them in terms of developmental work.
