As MLC, Rizwan Arshad has been vocal about the need to fund infrastructure and development works. He has said that BBMP had announced a permanent fund of Rs 175 crore for the IT corridor based on his suggestions. Recently he had supported Bellandur residents’ long-pending demand for bus services to the IT corridor. BMTC introduced the services last month, after receiving a representation from Arshad.

Interview with Rizwan Arshad

In this interview with Citizen Matters, Arshad talks about his accomplishments – getting the reserve fund allocated for the IT corridor, getting Khata included under the ambit of Sakala services, etc. He also talks about his controversial tweet that MP P C Mohan was taking undue credit for Carmelaram ROB works, Congress’s poll promises on GST and police reforms, his plans for the Mandur landfill, and so on. (We are sorry for the audio quality – but it’s hard to find a quiet place in the middle of an election campaign!)

  1. This was a seat for Roshan Baig.
Rizwan Arshad is a defeated candidate of 2014 election.

  2. Between 2014 and 2019, Rizwan’s assets grew a whopping 403% from 3.14cr to 15.8cr. Bravo, he sure knows a thing or two about ,”thinking outside the box” to amass personal wealth!
