Bengaluru was once considered to be a garden city. There were trees on every road, and a lot of them had to be sacrificed to make way for road-widening and flyovers. But gone are the days when people just sat and watched when trees were marked for cutting – the new age activists are doing many things to save the trees – one of them is tree-mapping. By mapping the trees and marking the species, these teams hope to raise awareness as well as collect good data on the trees in Bengaluru. One such team interacts with Akshatha.
