Stonehill International School in Jalahobli, Bangalore North, has been ranked the best international school in Bangalore with a score of 4.30 out of 5, in a survey conducted by ThinkVidya.com, an online community of parents, students and schools. The International School Bangalore (4.09), Sarjapur Road was ranked second, Trio World School (4.07), Sahakarnagar and Jain International Residential School, off Kanakapura Road, were jointly ranked third. Twenty-six International schools were shortlisted for ‘International Schools in Bangalore’, the first time such an independent survey was being conducted in the city. The boys’ and girls’ teams of Sports School, Kudige emerged victors at the Rotary Indirangar inter-school hockey tournament as it drew to a close on 3rd September. The final matches were held at the Karnataka State Hockey Stadium (KSHA) in Langford Town. It was the 21st edition of the ‘G.S.Randhawa Memorial Inter School Boys Hockey Tournament’, and the maiden edition of the ‘Bangalore Bothi Reddy Cup Inter School Girls Hockey Tournament’. Uma Devi and I H Manudev won the maiden six-red snooker state-ranking tournament organized by Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA). The men and women's finals were played at the KSBA hall near Vasanthanagar on 31st and 30th August respectively. Ajay Bhushan and M S Arun will be the State entries in the forthcoming Nationals at Chandigarh from 17 to 25th September 2011. Manudev and Balaji Reddy get direct entry. The Karnataka State billiards Association (KSBA), on 6th September, felicitated National Billiards & Snooker Championship winners and achievers in the recently concluded Nationals, which were held at Chennai. The event was held at KSBA hall near Vasanth Nagar. The following players were felicitated at the event. The third phase of the  'B' Division hockey tournament organised by Karnataka State Hockey Association (KSHA), kicked off on 24th August. After more than a month of league matches, the tournament is heading to an end. It was 10 am on Sunday August 28th at Freedom Park when nine people who had remained on indefinite fast since drank coconut water. They ended their fast along with Anna Hazare in New Delhi.
