Bengaluru habba kicked off on 11 January, art lovers of Bangalore are in for a beautiful rendezvous with music, culture and art. So, for anyone who would like to get a hold of what’s in store, here is a roundup of the bands that’ll be churning out the best of music across various genres, from funk to rock to contemporary and world music.

The selected bands/musicians playing at UB city, for Bengaluru Habba are quite literally hand-picked for the expertise in their respective genre of music.

Sanjay Divecha – World music will reverberate through Sanjay’s compositions for the seasoned musician he is.  His album “Full Circle”, will definitely strike a chord with people with a taste for world music. Lookout for fusion indian music and its overtures!

Moon Arra – Fusion of World music and jazz, their music appeals to the masses and one need not know the technicality of music to appreciate this genre. An audio-visual treat, this band has gone places to conquer the hearts of millions of music lovers, both domestic and international.

Caesar’s Palace – A definite destination for progressive rock music fans. A motley crew of members from various successful bands from bangalore, they are funky, groovy and very melodic. Having been in the circuit for about seven years now, they exhibit utmost energy on stage. So, for all those looking for a high octane jam, they are it!

Live Banned – They are the new act in town and are always trying out different ways, both audio and visual detail, to miximise the entertainment levels. They come on stage with colourful outfits and present a melange of songs, remixed and ready to be belted out to the waiting crowd. A relatively new style of music, the influences date to best of rock-n-roll and a little flavour of metal. For those, who have not heard about them and wonder, you will not be disappointed with this act.

Groove #3 – A funk-jazz genre of music, this Chennai band have has the crowd swinging to the groove and melody of their songs. They have added a good mix of traditional African music, with Latin American and Jamaican Reggae touches.
