The vision of Clean Bengaluru is to get people on to a common platform and do something constructive for their city. With this, you get to know what is happening in your city, what work is being done by various organizations, exchange ideas with one another and what you can do as an individual. Also, BBMP is going to be playing a big part in this campaign. It is an opportunity for the people to connect to BBMP such that it becomes a starting point for more work to be done in the future.

On the 15th of August, arm yourself with broom, dustpan, gloves and a biodegradable plastic bag (trash bag) and step out of your house, your apartment building, your school or your office and collect all the scattered trash around it. Keep the collected trash neatly in the plastic bag, tie it properly, and leave it outside your house/school/office or at the street corner. BBMP has committed to ensure the collected trash is cleared.

Once we have finished the work, we will update the clean Bangalore coordinators with details of volunteers, number of bags of trash collected, street or area which we have cleaned up.

We, the volunteers from Youth for Seva have partnered with the Clean Bengaluru campaign.

Please call the coordinator closest to you and join us tomorrow in this small step to make our city clean.  Your coordinator will identify the areas requiring the most cleaning up and inform you of the meeting point and time on 15th August from where the cleaning up will start.

The act of cleaning up one day is merely symbolic. It is obviously not possible for us to clean up all the garbage on the streets or the drains which are the places where most of the garbage lie. Rather, it’s an attempt to show people how powerful they can be through their actions and the possibilities that lie ahead.

It is our city. Let us, as Bangaloreans, show that we care!
