Free reading room and information center opened.

A free reading room and information center, to be maintained by Jayanagar 5th Block Residents’ Welfare Association was inaugurated on October 9th, by Jayanagar MLA, B N Vijaya Kumar.

The program was attended by former corporators, C K Rama Murthy, B Somasheakar, S K Nataraj, and many residents of Jayanagar 5th block and other citizens.

The proposed center will provide information on civic and utility services to residents and also would be equipped with books, newspapers and periodicals. The association would also conduct interactive meetings with officials/elected representatives and conduct welfare programs of the benefit of residents. ⊕

TapTap wristbands for metro passengers Passengers on the Metro 1 line, which runs from Ghatkopar to Versova, will have a new ticketing option in the near future. Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) has introduced a QR-coded wristband dubbed TapTap.  Passengers will be able to tap their wristbands at the automated fare collection gate (AFC). With an inaugural price of Rs 200, these wearable metro tickets are available at all customer care windows on the metro line.
