A smile infusing event

Giving your time to make life a little bit easier for someone else is a happy experience. A dentist shares her experience of a camp for special kids.

We, Perfect 32 – Dental Care and Implant Centre plan to select one centre and provide our services, free of charge every month. This way we give something back to the society. as part of this, for August, we chose Ejipura’s Gerizem Rehabilitation Centre for mentally challenged children. It was truly an enriching experience.

In today’s materialistic world, where we are all chasing one worldly possession after another, we receive new perspective when we meet these mentally challenged kids who are so affectionate, grateful and satisfied with what little they have and never hesitate to offer a smile. So much for our cribbing or irritation on mild inconveniences.

We had a very gratifying experience after spending three hours at Gerizem. We organised a dental check up camp for more than 85 children. We screened them, provided training on dental care and then asked them to come back to our center for free treatment.

We were heartened to see that most of them had good oral hygiene in spite of all their motor limitations. The care takers are doing such a wonderful job of taking care of the kids and their hygiene. All this is done with a genuine sense of compassion and selfless love.

The whole of the past week we have had the pleasure of seeing the children at our practice and performing what best treatment we can offer to put them out of pain and help cut at least one area of distress.

For those who would like to come and be a part of the activities and who would perhaps be interested in offering any kind of services, are invited to come and witness their treatment at our clinic from Monday (Aug 8) through Wednesday (Aug 10) between 9 am and 1 pm.
